Every February, in honor of the national campaign of Spay Day, Foothills Animal Shelter tries to increase education around the importance of spaying and neutering pets.  There will also be two additional spay/neuter clinics on February 4 and 11.  Click here for more info.

Be sure to enter your pet’s photo into the World Spay Day Photo Contest and select Foothills Animal Shelter as your charity.  Encourage your friends to donate and vote for your pet’s photo!  Proceeds from the contest will help support the spay/neuter initiatives at Foothills Animal Shelter.  Click here for more information.

PetSmart Adoption Event

Saturday, February 11

10 a.m.-4 p.m.

PetSmart (3540 Youngfield St., Wheat Ridge)

During this national PetSmart adoption weekend, Foothills Animal Shelter will have many wonderful canine friends available for adoption and waiting to find their fur-ever homes.  This is a wonderful opportunity for these dogs to receive additional exposure to potential forever families.  For every adoption that takes place in the store on this day, PetSmart will donate an additional $35 to the Shelter!

American Red Cross Pet First Aid and CPR Class

Sunday, February 12

1-5 p.m.

Foothills Animal Shelter (580 McIntyre Street, Golden)

 In this 4-hour class, pet owners will learn pet CPR, rescue breathing, evacuation and emergency preparedness, treating physical injuries, poisoning, environmental emergencies and much more.  Click here for more information and a registration form.

Low-Cost Vaccine, Microchip and Dog Licensing Clinic

Saturday, February 18

 2-4 p.m.

 Murdoch’s (9150 Wadsworth Blvd., Westminster)

 Foothills Animal Shelter will be offering low-cost vaccines, microchips and dog licenses.  No appointment necessary.  Cash or check only.
