Volunteers play a vital role in helping Foothills Animal Shelter fulfill its mission to rescue, care for, reunite and adopt the thousands of animals who pass through our doors every year. We at Foothills Animal Shelter could not do what we do without our amazing volunteers. While we are extremely appreciative of any and all community members willing to volunteer their time in so many different capacities, we are streamlining our program to be more efficient and to ultimately help the animals and community most effectively.
Must be 18 years of age (except if you volunteer at home through the foster program with your family).
Must be willing to make a 6-month commitment, averaging 8 hours per month.
Fill out a volunteer application. (Click HERE for application.)
Have a phone or in-person interview.
Pass criminal background check.
Attend orientation and or go through specialized trainings – dependent upon position(s).
Contribute a fee to cover the cost of volunteer t-shirt, name tag and background check.
Have a home visit (for foster parents only).
