Volunteers play a vital role in helping Foothills Animal Shelter fulfill its mission to rescue, care for, reunite and adopt the thousands of animals who pass through our doors every year. We at Foothills Animal Shelter could not do what we do without our amazing volunteers. While we are extremely appreciative of any and all community members willing to volunteer their time in so many different capacities, we are streamlining our program to be more efficient and to ultimately help the animals and community most effectively.

 GENERAL VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be 18 years of age (except if you volunteer at home through the foster program with your family).
• Must be willing to make a 6-month commitment, averaging 8 hours per month.
• Fill out a volunteer application. (Click  HERE  for application.)
• Have a phone or in-person interview.
• Pass criminal background check.
• Attend orientation and or go through specialized trainings – dependent upon position(s).
• Contribute a fee to cover the cost of volunteer t-shirt, name tag and background check.
• Have a home visit (for foster parents only).

SERVICE PROJECTS AND COMMUNITY SERVICE INFORMATION:

Service Projects:   Are you a business or community group looking for a one-day service project or to hold a collection drive?  Please contact our Community and Event Coordinator at 720.407.5216 for details.

Community Service and Court-Ordered Requirements:  Are you looking to fulfill court-ordered community service or are you in the Community Works Program? Please contact our Special Services Lead staff at 720.407.5214 for details.  If approved, please note you will not be working directly with the animals.
