Dog Licensing
Dog licensing reunites lost dogs with their owners, encourages responsible pet ownership and enhances public safety. A license also helps support the orphaned pets at Foothills Animal Shelter! You may license your dog at Foothills Animal Shelter, one of our offsite community clinics or at one of many designated veterinary offices.
WHERE CAN I GET MY DOG LICENSED?
You can license your dog at Foothills Animal Shelter any day of the week (Monday-Friday 11 a.m.-7 p.m. & Saturday-Sunday 10 a.m.-6 p.m.). No appointment is needed. Simply bring your pet’s current rabies vaccination records, and proof of their spay or neuter.
Is your dog due for a rabies vaccine? Weekly clinics are held at Foothills Animal Shelter every Wednesday and Friday between 3-4 pm (please check for holiday closings). We also offer offsite clinics throughout our community. No appointment is necessary. Click here to learn more about our clinics.
To see a complete listing of all other location options, go to http://jeffco.us/sheriff/sheriff_T62_R210.htm.
FEES
The annual cost for a spayed/neutered dog is $15
The annual cost for an unaltered dog is $30
Please note that a rabies vaccine is needed prior to licensing. Please bring proof of your dog’s spay or neuter.
WHY LICENSE?
Should your dog go missing, licensing will give him or her the best chance possible to get back home to you. At the same time, you will be helping thousands of orphaned pets within the community find new forever homes.
Please take a moment to view “Jefferson County inSights” – a fantastic video that reminds us of the importance of dog licensing. Special thanks to: Wendy Brockman, Damon Parrish and KATV 8 (City of Arvada) staff.
